
Stemming from his experience as a performer, Isaac brings a high quality of teaching to his over 50 students between his private practice and involvement in schools, ranging from beginners to Grade 8 and beyond. His AMEB students have received have regularly received high marks and feel well prepared in all facets of their examinations. Isaac has experience in teaching both standard AMEB and Piano for Leisure repertoire of all grades, as well as composition, popular and jazz styles.
Isaac’s students have gone to perform in eisteddfods and his composition students have entered competitions such as the Australian Songwriting Competition.
In addition to examination preparation, Isaac also runs student concerts twice a year and one of these concerts are held at an external venue.
Exams and competitions are optional, but the twice yearly concerts are highly encouraged. Performances are currently run as a digitally due to restrictions.
Isaac takes pride in his ability as a performer and has been involved in performances, masterclasses and competitions locally and overseas, including the UCSI International Piano Competition in Kuala Lumpur, where he was a semi-finalist. Domestically, in tandem with the successful completion of his Bachelor of Music at Monash University, he has been a finalist for the Australian Music Prize twice and a finalist for the Spivakovsky Piano Prize representing the top level of his cohort. He has also been invited to the Melbourne Recital Centre for a masterclass with acclaimed pianist Paul Lewis.
